Home Made White Bread Recipe

Ingredients needed to make Home Made White Bread:
  • 2 Tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 6 1/2 to 7 cups BASIC WHITE BREAD MIX
  • Butter or margarine
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. When yeast starts to bubble, add eggs, water and oil. Blend well. Add BASIC WHITE BREAD MIX 1 cup at a time until dough is stiff. On a lightly floured surface, knead dough 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and satiny. Lightly butter bowl and put dough in, turn to butter top. Cover with a damp towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk, about an hour (more if you are at high altitudes). Punch down dough. Let stand 10 minutes. Shape into 2 loaves. Grease two 9" x 5" bread loaf pans. Place 1 loaf in each pan, seam side down. Cover and let rise again until slightly rounded above top of pan, about 40 minutes(again this could be longer at high altitudes). Preheat oven to 375°.  Bake your home made white bread for 45 to 55 minutes, until deep golden brown. Remove the bread from oven and brush tops with butter or margarine. Remove your home made white bread from pans and cool on a wire rake. Makes 2 loaves of delicious home made white bread.
